About Lafayette Residents Directory

Lafayette has no single current book that names every person in town. Useful evidence is spread among the Boulder County Assessor, Clerk and Recorder, Elections, courts, Colorado vital-record offices, Lafayette City Hall, libraries, and archives. This private reference organizes those public routes and historical shelves so a name, street, parcel, or older address can be matched to the office that actually keeps the record.

Why This Reference Exists

Printed Lafayette resident directories belong to the historical shelf, while current evidence is divided among record systems. Boulder County's Assessor and Recording Division handle property and recorded instruments. Elections publishes defined voter fields. The Colorado Judicial Branch controls court dockets and copies, while CDPHE and local offices apply confidentiality rules to vital records. Lafayette Public Library, Carnegie Library for Local History, the City Archives, and the History Museum preserve another layer of names, places, and community memory.

The point is orientation. A property owner is not automatically an occupant, a voter report is not a complete household list, and a directory entry is a publication snapshot. Clear labels make the search more useful and reduce the chance that a historical clue is mistaken for a current fact.

What the Pages Bring Together

  • Address records: the By Street page follows parcels, legal descriptions, deeds, GIS layers, voter reports, and address history.
  • Historical volumes: the City Directories page explains the 1892-1978 Lafayette shelf, the 1902 telephone record, and regional Boulder volumes.
  • One-person checks: the Resident Lookup page pairs property, voter, court, vital, business, license, and archive clues.
  • Geography and community: the ZIP Directory, Past Residents, and Find Neighbors pages separate delivery lines, old addresses, adjacent parcels, and civic associations.
  • Access routes: the pages identify online searches, phone and mail contacts, library help, public terminals, formal requests, and record limits.

What Cannot Be Promised

This is an independent reference, not a department of Lafayette, Boulder County, Colorado, a court, a library, or a records custodian. No private operator can certify a public record or decide whether a person currently lives at an address.

  • Records cannot be pulled, certified, corrected, added, or removed on a reader's behalf.
  • A current household cannot be confirmed from an assessed owner, voter entry, directory listing, or mailing address alone.
  • Restricted vital, juvenile, sealed, adoption, protected-court, confidential-voter, and ACP material remains subject to the custodian's rules.
  • Coverage years, fees, office hours, portal fields, and links can change as agencies update systems.
  • Legal advice about a dispute, record, or intended use must come from a qualified Colorado professional.

Only the office that holds a record can confirm, certify, or correct it. Information from this reference must not be used for credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated decision.
