Privacy Policy

This policy describes the small amount of information connected with the Lafayette Residents Directory and the choices available to a visitor. The directory is a reference to Boulder County and Colorado records, libraries, and historical collections; it does not require an account and does not host a private resident database.

Information You Send

If a visitor types a name, phone number, or address into a search box, that submission is handled by the third-party provider that supplies the results. The directory operator does not keep a copy of those searches on its own server. A message sent to the operator contains only the details the sender chooses to include and is used to answer the inquiry.

Routine Technical Logs

Hosting systems may record ordinary technical details such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time stamps. These logs support security, troubleshooting, and aggregate traffic review. Basic cookies or similar tools may be used for analytics or, when applicable, advertising measurement. Those services can have their own notices.

How Limited Data Is Used

Information is used to operate the pages, fix faults, understand broad traffic patterns, and improve the reference. The operator does not sell a visitor list or intentionally create a personal profile about an individual reader.

External Portals and Tools

Pages link to Boulder County, Lafayette, Colorado, library, archive, and other official resources. They may also display sponsored search tools. Once a visitor leaves this directory, the outside provider's privacy notice and data practices apply. Check that provider before submitting a name, address, phone number, or other detail.

Who Processes Technical Data

Hosting, analytics, security, and advertising providers may process the technical data described above to deliver their services. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal demand requires it. It is not otherwise provided as a visitor list or sold as one.

Security Measures

Pages are served over an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only while they serve the purposes above or as a provider's normal retention rules require. There are no directory accounts or passwords for a visitor to protect here.

Visitors Under 18

The material is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operator does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact the operator if a minor has sent information so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Colorado Privacy Choices

Colorado's Privacy Act, C.R.S. §§6-1-1301 to 1313 and 4 CCR 904-3, gives rights against covered businesses that may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. The Colorado Attorney General recognizes Global Privacy Control as a universal opt-out signal for covered businesses. Coverage, exemptions, thresholds, and response rules depend on the statute and the business involved.

Because this directory keeps very little visitor data, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available technical logs and removing information that the operator controls. Use the Contact page for that request. Public records held by Lafayette, Boulder County, or Colorado offices remain with their custodians. Requests for those records are governed by the Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-201 to 206, rather than by this directory's own systems.
