Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using the Lafayette Residents Directory. Accessing or reading the pages means you accept them. If those conditions are not acceptable, do not use the directory or its linked tools.

1. What This Reference Is

Lafayette Residents Directory is a privately operated reference for public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Lafayette, Boulder County, and Colorado. It does not host government files and has no affiliation with an office, court, library, archive, or records custodian.

2. Acceptable and Prohibited Uses

Use the pages only in a lawful way. You may not use this directory or information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit fraud, identity theft, or another unlawful act
  • Make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the content at scale
  • Disrupt, probe, or interfere with the operation or security of the directory

3. No Consumer Reports

The directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages, and nothing supplied by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. None of it may be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose governed by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links

County and state portals, courts, libraries, archives, and sponsored tools maintain their own terms, prices, availability, and privacy rules. Lafayette Residents Directory does not control those outside services and is not responsible for their content or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The pages and links are supplied “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a statement, record description, coverage date, fee, office detail, or external portal is accurate, complete, current, or continuously available.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this directory or a linked resource, including an action taken from a record found through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the directory operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from your misuse of the pages or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. A reader may link to a page and quote a short excerpt with attribution. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted.

9. Changes to These Terms

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after the revision is posted signifies acceptance of the changed terms.

10. Access May End

Access can be blocked or limited for a person who violates these terms, abuses the pages, or threatens the service. The operators may take that step without advance notice.

11. Colorado Law

Colorado law governs these terms without applying its conflict-of-law rules. The Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. §§24-72-201 to 206, governs requests to Colorado custodians, not the operation of this private reference. Colorado privacy rights for covered businesses are addressed by C.R.S. §§6-1-1301 to 1313 and 4 CCR 904-3. Those statutes do not make the directory a records custodian.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions
